Accredited seminaries online from WBS? You can learn and earn: Many students who take online classes are full-time professionals looking to get ahead in their careers. Even if you’re not currently working full-time, distance learning courses offer you a flexible schedule that allows you to learn and work at the same time, and pay your way through college. Forget about geographical boundaries! Since you can complete a distance-learning course from anywhere, you are not bound by geography. You can choose any school that offers the program you want, no matter where it’s located anywhere in the country, or even internationally. Plus, if you ever relocate, you don’t have to worry about transferring to another school.

While many college students supplement their education by enrolling in free massive open online courses (MOOCs), one-on-one online tutorial programs are very much an option for university-level learners as well. Most accredited universities provide on-campus tutors, and many have expanded to also include web-based services that don’t require face-to-face instruction; in either case, the tutor is typically another college student with expertise in a given field. Many private companies have also launched online tutorial services aimed exclusively at college students. Check out some of these programs in our list of options in the section immediately below.

The Certificate in Apologetics is a robust and challenging 1- or 2-year program, which prepares students to engage with a variety of worldviews in defense of orthodox Christianity. This program is for students who want to be able to confidently articulate and defend the Christian worldview in a pluralistic context. The Certificate in Apologetics will help pastors, Christian leaders, and laypeople develop an extensive philosophical and biblical framework to face current moral and philosophical challenges. While face-to-face personal tutoring is an effective practice in itself, the logistics can be a struggle for many. Key challenges include coordinating schedules, matching personality or academic levels and finding a convenient location. Now, all a student needs is a computer and internet access, and they can connect with a tutor in any core subject – as often or infrequently as they need to. Flexible services are increasingly offering enhanced capabilities such as essay checking services, broadening the appeal to students everywhere. “I think it’s awesome because now I can rely less on getting teacher help. I’m not as stressed about not understanding something, because I know I will have a backup plan.” ECU student, WA

Real-time: Using live video technology, students are brought together in a virtual classroom setting at specific class times for lectures and class interactions. Students can participate in any on-campus course via real-time video. Students will be able to watch the professor’s lectures as well as see the other students who are online and in the physical classroom. Online students have the same opportunity to ask questions and engage with the professor as the on-campus students do. Find additional info at https://wbs.edu/.
